The glass making process
The production of glass is a complex process, which mainly includes the following steps:
Ingredients: First, according to the design requirements, quartz sand, limestone, feldspar, soda ash, boric acid and other raw materials are weighed according to a certain proportion, and mixed evenly in the mixer
Melting: Then, the mixed raw materials are heated in the melting kiln at high temperature to form a uniform glass liquid without bubbles. The process involves physical and chemical reactions that require heating temperatures to around 1,500 degrees Celsius.
Shaping: Next, the liquid glass is made into the desired shape by a specific method. This step may include techniques such as pressing, blow molding (mechanical blow molding, hand blow molding), centrifugal rotation, etc.
Annealing: Finally, in order to reduce the internal stress of the glass, the glass after forming needs to be annealed, that is, slowly cooled at a temperature below the melting point of the glass to eliminate internal stress and prevent cracking.
In general, the glass making process is a comprehensive process involving a variety of processes and technologies, each step is crucial and requires precise operation and control.
